ABOUT THE VIDEO:

My goal with this project was to create a video about how it feels to lose a loved one. My grandma passed away in 2019 and a year later I had an idea to create a video using different characters and portray through them how my family felt. At times it was hard to work on this video, but other times it was very therapeutic. This video is more on the simpler side, because I wanted to focus more on specific scenes and voiceovers that spoke to me in order to tell a story through the characters. The song that inspired and motivated me for this idea was, “Trauma” by NF. It was a long process, but the process is what made it truly special to me. I also learned that it’s not easy to create a simple video, just as much as it’s not easy to create a video with effects. My role as a video editor was to research and collect scenes from different characters that matched what I wanted to convey.
