Collab Parts Portfolio

Fanvids are video edits created using TV shows and movies to tell a story. A few years ago I found my true passion in wanting to tell stories through my favorite TV shows, movies, and characters. Eventually, video editing became my favorite hobby and every chance I have free time, there’s nothing else I wouldn’t love to spend more time on. Video editing makes me love to experiment with new techniques and I love to challenge myself with different styles. Naturally, I love to focus on voiceovers, sound effects, lyrics, beats, and transition between clips. Color grading is another skill I love to improve upon and making a coloring that works best with the style I'm going for is extremely important when storytelling.

ABOUT THE VIDEO:

In this video I combined some of my favorite collab parts that I got to work on for different collab styles. I had so much fun for each one and have gotten the chance to learn new techniques and grow as a video editor. My favorite editing style to work with is definitely more on the raw side with few effects, and focusing more on the voiceovers and sound effects. I also listed in the description box of the video the links available for the full videos with all of the fanvidders (video editors) that participated in the collabs.

Collab parts videos showcase some of the best work you have done in a collab setting and they are like little portfolio pieces that are usually between 3 to 5 min long, but in some cases even longer.
A collab part is usually between 8 to 12 seconds long, depending on how the person who hosted the collab cut the song. Every person that joins the collab will get around that time frame. It might look very short, but most editors can get a lot of scenes and voiceovers in their part.

Getting to collaborate with many different video editors around the world is an incredible experience and not only that, but also getting to challenge yourself with styles you might have never imagined giving a chance.
